As of April 1, 2024, members who want trash service at their home must use the provider selected by the Board of Directors. GFL will no longer be allowed to provide trash service. This only applies to homes within HLA. If you have service with GFL, you will need to cancel. If you are a landlord, please contact the office to provide instructions for the billing name. The office will send a list of HLA home addresses and names to Republic for billing.

GREAT NEWS – HLA ACCOUNTS ARE NOW LIVE!!  If you have an old garbage can and as long as its not a competitor can as well, put a note saying please dispose of or something similar. Refer to the link above “Republic Services App” to set up online access – to make updates, ask questions, view/pay bill, and much more.


MESSAGE FROM REPUBLIC SERVICES (4-16-24)

Now that HLA members have their Republic trash containers; after TOMORROW’S PICKUP Republic will only be able to service Republic containers. If someone needs an extra one, please call their call center at 309-827-8631. As another option, everyone is encouraged to use the Republic website at https://www.republicservices.com/contact-us/residential

Republic Services’ trucks only picks up from one side of the road, then they come back down the other side of all streets (see the link above – Republic Services HLA Route).  Republic has received several calls from HLA residents thinking they’d been missed for trash pick-up, so Republic provided the HLA Route link above so members are aware of the route.


Republic Services will be delivering new trash containers starting Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  Delivery is expected to be complete by March 28, 2024.  Please be patient as there may be corrections as we go through the distribution process.  If you have an issue, please contact Republic Services customer support.

Price per home year 1: $20.00
Year 2: $21.00
Year 3: $22.05
Year 4: $23.15
Year 5: $24.31


At the annual meeting and in the letter sent out to the membership, it was stated that the billing frequency is monthly.  That was incorrect, the billing frequency is quarterly.  The monthly rate above is still correct, you will just be billed 4 times per year rather than 12.
