We have been notified by a resident of an attempted break-in in the subdivision using similar tactics to the ones recently reported in the Pekin area.  Potential thieves will use unlocked cars in the driveway or street to enter a house through the garage with the garage door opener, or wait until the homeowner is working in the backyard and enter through the front.

Residents are cautioned to lock your cars and doors and report any suspicious activity to the Tazewell County Sheriff’s department.
