Snow Removal Update – 01/05/14 6:45 pm

Plowing is still resulting in little to no progress.  Plowing operations within the association have been stopped for the night at will resume at 4 am on Monday.

Also, IDOT has closed Rt. 9 from east of Mackinaw to Rt 122.

Tazewell County has issued the following notice:

Due to the current winter storm, the Tazewell County Highway Department and Tazewell County Emergency Management Agency advise motorists to stay off the roads through the night. Anyone driving in these conditions should expect low to zero visibility, blowing/drifting snow, slick and dangerous roads. As temperatures continue to fall and as winds increase, potential life threatening conditions will exist.
Tazewell County Highway Department crews have been working all day to clear county roads; however the blowing and drifting snow have made road conditions extremely poor. “Everyone should stay indoors, unless driving to your destination is an emergency,” says Dawn Cook, Tazewell County Emergency Management Director. “People driving in these conditions are putting themselves in danger, as well as the police and emergency personnel responding.”

Please, be safe and stay warm.
