SUMMER SAFETY REMINDERS FOR WALKERS/RUNNERS/BICYCLES/MOTORCYCLES – GRASS CLIPPING INFO

Please walk/run on the LEFT side of the HLA roads, unless you are on a tight curve and it is safer to move to the other side until the road straightens so you can move to the LEFT side again. We have reports of members walking in the middle of the road and some while pushing a strollers.

Bicycles should be on the right side of the road, the same as vehicles.

 

 

Grass Clippings on the Roads: Do not blow or deposit grass clippings on the roads it is hazardous for motorcycles, walkers, runners, and bicycles. According to Illinois law, it is illegal to deposit grass clippings onto any public roadway as it may cause injury to motorists or become a traffic hazard. Please do your part to eliminate this potentially dangerous situation.
