The post office has asked us to remind residents that clearing out the area around your mailbox so the mail carrier can get to it is the homeowners responsibility. If the carrier cannot get to your box, you may not receive any of your mail. If you find there are spots within the Association that […]
With the winter storm we are expecting in the area Saturday and Sunday, the plowing crew is requesting that all members limit street parking as much as possible. Cars parked on the street, especially in the cul-de-sacs, make it extremely difficult for the plow trucks to get down and clear the snow. Streets that have […]
The Heritage Lake plow crews have been working throughout the night to open the roads within the Association, however we are hearing reports that Route 9 and Fast Ave. are still snow covered and very drifted. Please use caution if you decide to travel this morning. As a reminder, the IDOT road conditions updates can […]
Plows have been out in the subdivision since the snow started accumulating and will continue until about 10:30pm Tuesday night. The plows will start back up again at around 4am to clear roads Wednesday morning. Again, for your reference, here is the link to the Illinois Department of Transportation Road Conditions page. Please use caution […]
Maintenance crews are out now putting down cinders to help with traction in known slick spots. Plows will not be out again until more snow falls. A couple of reminders as we prepare for more snow later in the week: Although they do try their best, our plow drivers may drop snow at the top […]
All the roads in the subdivision should now be open. Please keep in mind the blades on the plows have been raised slightly to prevent damage to the roads so there will still be a slight layer of snow on the roads. If your road is still too slick or snow-covered to get out of, […]
The plows are out and running this morning in Heritage Lake. Freezing rain has been falling since about 8am and is creating a layer of ice on the top of the snow, making for slow going for the plows, but both are out and working, and will continue to do so until roads are cleared. […]
Earlier in the day on Monday one of the Association’s plow trucks lost its transmission. This truck is in the shop, but will be out of commission until Thursday. The remaining plows have been working all day and anticipate having all roads opened by nightfall. From there the plan is to maintain any blowing as […]
The Heritage Lake Association plows are out and running. Please give them plenty of space and time to complete their operations before heading out. IDOT is still listing Rt. 9 as closed as of 7am. Road closure updates from IDOT can be found on their Winter Road Conditions page.
Due to high winds, snow removal has been stopped until later this evening. The blowing and drifting combined with continued snowfall have made any progress impossible. Plowing will resume between 5:30 and 6 pm, after the snow and winds taper off slightly. Again, please use extreme caution if travelling on the roads both within the […]
Heritage Lake Association snow plows will be running all day in an attempt to keep up with the snow. We ask for your patience as we try to keep up with the 1-1.5 inches per hour and blowing that is predicted over the next couple hours. Please use extreme caution if travelling on the roads […]
The Heritage Lake Maintenance staff has been keeping an eye on the roads and salting them every couple of hours. They will resume salting at 6 am Sunday morning. Please be careful if you are on the roads.
As another storm system approaches the Midwest, the Post Office has requested that residents be reminded of the following. Heritage Lake residents are responsible for keeping the area in front of their mailboxes and newspaper boxes accessible to the mail and newspaper delivery people. This includes clearing snow after a snow fall, clearing what is […]
